Public Funding

FC provides a full range of business development services for funded (EU and National) opportunities, covering the complete life cycle from the initial conception and the identification of the most appropriate partners to the preparation and submission on behalf of our clients.

FC has extensive experience in the acquisition of public funding through the preparation and submission of proposals under various programmes for R&D (FP7, ITEA2, COST, SYNERGASIA, etc.), vocational training (Life Long Learning Programme: Transfer of Innovation, Development of Innovation, KA3-ICT, etc.) and business activities (ESPA, etc.).

FC provides the following business development services related to public funding:

  • Identification of funding opportunities: FC constantly reviews calls at international and national level for the identification of the most appropriate funding opportunities for its customers, taking into account the strategic objectives of our customers R&D strategy in combination with their experience, expertise, skills and competencies. The result is the perfect matching of funding opportunities to our customers based on areas of expertise, maximizing success probabilities. Start-up companies can also benefit from our training on the acquisition of public funding for their specific area of activity (more....).
  • Formation of partnerships and consortia: FC helps its clients set up appropriate partnerships and/or consortia fulfilling participation requirements based on the programme and maximising selection probabilities. The good knowledge of our clients organizational structure and capacity for business allows us to propose and formulate partnerships that will allow our customers to pursue public funding opportunities that would otherwise fall outside their "league", and/or to greatly increase their selection probabilities.
  • Preparation and submission of proposals: FC utilizes its R&D and public funding experience to undertake the preparation and submission of proposals on behalf of its customers, making sure to highlight their strong points and presents a strong case. FC undertakes this task with great pride and considers the success of every submission it undertakes on behalf of its customers a personal matter. For this purpose, it offers various models of cooperation to its customers with respect to the preparation and submission of proposals, including:
    • "one-off" preparation and/or submission: FC provides its proposal writing services based on a fixed price agreement with the customer and its work ends with the successful submission of the proposal. FC guarantees (money back guarantee offered) that the proposal will be accepted and evaluated by the funding agency and not rejected due to inefficiencies related to the technical capacity of the proposal. Naturally, FC cannot guarantee the proposal will be selected for funding as competitors can score higher on the technical criteria.
    • Retributive preparation and/or submission: FC will offer its proposal writing services for the preparation and/or submission of proposals in a retributive manner. Under this model, FC agrees with the customer on a retributive financial compensation for the provision of its services, according to which FC will receive payment only in case of successful (selected for funding) proposal. Payment may be "one-off" following the selection of the proposal(s) for funding, or through subcontracting of pre-agreed tasks foreseen in the workplan of the proposal to FC, or via a combination of the two.
    • Synergistic preparation and/or submission: FC and the customer(s) form a formal partnership for the context of the proposal and FC prepares and submits the proposal on behalf of the partnership. Under this model, FC and the partner(s) have agreed tasks and financial distribution among partners during the preparation phase. This distribution will take into consideration the effort consumed by FC for the preparation and submission so that FC can be compensated in case of successful (selected to receive funding) proposal.
  • Lobbying: FC establishes qualified contacts to support project ideas to:
    • private companies: establishment of initial contact, the organisation and hosting of orientation meetings, introductory presentations, etc.
    • universities and research institutions: establishment of initial contact, the organisation and hosting of orientation meetings, introductory presentations, facilitation of partnerships, etc.
